Plant of the Month

This is months plant of the month is:  Salvia Species. Salvias are great accent to any garden they come an array of colors such as reds., purples, and blues. They are hardy in our climate though some might require a little shade most of them do great in full sun. They are frost tender but cut back in spring for new growth. Check your local nurseries for a variety of Salvias. The Flowers come out on a stock which attract humming birds and butterflies. The salvia re-seed when the flowers dry up so you will see more clusters the following year. They flower from spring through fall seasons.
